Welcome to the Official Website of the
Wisconsin State Firefighters Association
Through your membership and continued support, the Association is able to carry out our mission to provide firefighters throughout Wisconsin with expert assistance, peer networking, legislative support and educational opportunities in order to create a greater partnership among fire departments in Wisconsin.

Today the Governor issued Emergency Order #12 to institute a Safer At Home policy. Please read the order carefully!

The order is effective at 8:00 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2020 and remain in effect until 8:00 am Friday, April 24, 2020, or until a superseding order is issued.

Wisconsin residents must comply with this order. As outlined in the order, individuals can leave their home to perform tasks essential to maintain health and safety, get services and supplies necessary for staying home, and care for others.

After reviewing the order, if a business believes their business is doing essential work and they are not exempted in this order please go to this link https://wedc.org/essentialbusiness/.

These are important steps to ensure we working to slow the spread of COVID-19, and we all need to do our part and work together to protect each other. The Governor did not take this decision lightly, but we know what Wisconsinites can do when they care about each other.

Essential services will continue to be provided to our communities. We ask that you recognize the efforts of those who are providing those services.

We are extremely grateful to everyone. #SaferAtHome

A Message from WSFA President, Todd Blaser

I wanted to take a moment to thank all you for standing on the front lines during this unprecedented time. The effects of COVID-19 on healthcare and our communities are tough and significant. I appreciate all of your efforts to care for the people we serve and protect them from this virus.   The acceleration of closures of schools, public events, restaurants, bars and travel restrictions, not to mention the quarantine measures are not only alarming to the public but to our staff as well.

The NVFC is offering a webinar on March 25th that I hope many of us can find to be valuable on managing stress and anxiety in uncertain times.  Once again I stress the well-being of your members during this time.

I want to stress if you haven't sat down with your partners; public health, emergency management, local hospitals and EMS services you must do so in order for everyone to be on the same page.  During my time in the fire service one thing has remained true.  Communication is the key component to a successful mitigation of an event.  It is here in Wisconsin and we can assist in decreasing the panic that exists by demonstrating our leadership skills in educating our public and demonstrating the precautions and best practices in place.  Please refer to the CDC website for factual information and best practices.

Be safe and serve your communities with pride!
