Fire up the imaginations of the children in your community.

You may have a winner or two in the annual
WSFA Fire Prevention Poster Contest.

This contest is only open to participating member departments within the State of Wisconsin

All participating member departments should accept and prejudge the entries from children in Kindergarten through Grade 8

Send only the first place winner from your department for each grade to the WSFA office.

The posters will be displayed and judged at the WSFA convention in 2008. Winners will be selected on the basis of originality and their understanding of fire prevention strategies.

Eligibility:

1. Grades Kindergarten through eighth grade are eligible.
2. All pictures must be drawn free hand. All others will be disqualified.
3. All posters will be on white poster paper.
4. Posters can be one of two sizes: 11"x17" or 12"x18".- others will be eliminated
5. Paints, crayons and colored markers can be used.
6. No identification of any sort, designating city, fire department, etc. will be allowed on the front of the pictures. Those that have any type of ID on their pictures will be disqualified.
7. ** Important: On the back of each poster, print the name, grade level, address and telephone number of each student, plus the name, address and telephone number of the school, and the name, address and telephone number of the participating fire department.
   (This is the only means we have of contacting winners)
8. Posters must not be laminated.
9. Only one poster, per each grade level, from a school or Fire Department will be accepted. More than one per grade will disqualify all entries. ( Note: If a school has 2-3 fourth grades, for example, only one entry from those grades will be accepted)

** Important Note: It is very important that Rule 7 be followed - this will make it much easier to judge and contact the winning students, their schools and fire departments. Without this complete information, a winning poster may not receive proper recognition.

Details

First, Second and Third place winners will be chosen in each grade level:

Kindergarten, First, Second, Third, Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth grades.

January 31, 2008

Prizes

1. $50.00 will be awarded to each First-place winner in each grade division.
2. $25.00 will be awarded to each Second-Place winner in each grade division.
3. $10.00 will be awarded to each Third-Place winner in each grade division.
